Recently, under the supervision and protection of Tianjin Customs, the ship "Saifeng Rizhao" carrying 8,325 tons and 454 containers of cargo left Tianjin Port Container Terminal for Vietnam, a member of RCEP.
This is the first voyage of the Tianjin-Hai Phong (Vietnam) direct shipping route newly added by Tianjin Port. The opening of the new route provides a new and convenient sea freight route for export enterprises in Tianjin and surrounding areas.
As a free trade agreement with the largest population, the largest economic and trade scale, and the most development potential in the world, RCEP has achieved a remarkable effect in boosting trade development through regional economic interconnection.
Since the beginning of this year, the scale of trade between Tianjin Port and RCEP member countries has grown rapidly, and the total value of imports and exports to RCEP trading partners has exceeded 290 billion yuan. The increase in the scale of trade has put forward higher requirements for logistics and transportation.
The new route opened this time has invested a total of 4 container ships, each of which has a cargo capacity of about 1200-1800 20-foot TEUs, forming a stable dedicated line of "one flight a week, one month sailing period". Home furnishing building materials, textiles, and semi-finished chemical products are mainly produced in the surrounding areas of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.
The opening of this route will further unblock Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Southeast Asia, and provide export enterprises with more efficient and economical direct flight services. According to reports, in the later stage, the route will also be added to Busan, South Korea, to build a "maritime highway" between Tianjin Port and RCEP member countries.
Previously, goods exported to Vietnam needed to transit through Japan, South Korea and other countries. The opening of the new route has enabled point-to-point express flights between the two ports, saving about 10 days of time.
Tianjin Port is an important outlet for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. In order to ensure that the denser and denser route network between Tianjin Port and RCEP member countries can exert greater advantages, Tianjin Customs has implemented the ten measures of the General Administration of Customs to promote the stability and quality of foreign trade. Policies publicize efforts to maximize the release of policy dividends, guide enterprises to apply for RCEP certificates of origin, and enjoy greater tax incentives.
According to the different commodities and trade modes of foreign trade enterprises, formulate customs clearance modes to help guide enterprises to standardize declarations and resolve difficulties and blockages in the customs clearance process.
At the same time, we will make every effort to meet the timeliness requirements of enterprises for shipping services, establish a communication mechanism with agents and terminal companies, understand ship berthing plans in advance, and complete quarantine work as soon as inbound ships berth with the operation mode of "people waiting for ships". It will lay the foundation for the subsequent rapid loading and unloading operations, improve the overall customs clearance operation level, and make every effort to ensure the smooth circulation of maritime logistics.
